Chico Lorenzo concerned about Bagnaia’s performance at Italian GP

Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia experienced a disappointing weekend at the Italian GP — his team’s home race at Mugello Circuit.

The 2022 and 2023 MotoGP world champion had to settle for third place in the sprint race after starting from second grid, while in the 23-lap main race he was forced to accept a fourth-place finish.

In both sessions, his teammate Marc Marquez managed to dominate and win the races — a result that prompted Chico Lorenzo, father of former rider Jorge Lorenzo, to highlight Bagnaia’s condition.

“I admire his fighting spirit against Marquez, but it seems Bagnaia has already given up in this season’s world championship pursuit,” said Chico Lorenzo.

This result halts Bagnaia’s positive trend of achieving podium finishes at Mugello in the previous three seasons.
