Chen Yu Fei Ends Title Drought with Swiss Open 2025 Triumph

China’s Chen Yu Fei finally broke her title drought by claiming the Swiss Open 2025 women’s singles crown, defeating Danish shuttler Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt in straight games.

The final, held at St. Jakobshalle, Basel, tested Chen’s resilience as the former world number one had to rally from early setbacks before securing a 21-17, 21-17 victory.

Challenging Start, Strong Finish

Chen struggled in the early exchanges, trailing 10-7 after a strong push from Kjaersfeldt. A costly smash error pushed Chen further behind 7-11 at the interval. However, the Chinese ace regrouped, turned the tide, and dominated the latter half.

Kjaersfeldt, who hasn’t won a title since the Irish Open nine years ago, once again fell short. The Dane has now reached five BWF World Tour finals, finishing runner-up in all. She also faced disappointment last year after missing selection for the Paris Olympics.

A Long-Awaited Victory

For Chen Yu Fei, this victory marks a much-needed confidence boost as she heads into the Olympic year.
