Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei back in harmony after brief separation

Malaysian mixed doubles pair, Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei, are displaying positive atmosphere during training sessions ahead of July tournaments — a stark contrast to the tension months ago when they requested separation.

Malaysia’s mixed doubles head coach, Nova Widianto, sees encouraging development from the world number 4 pair after they reunited at Singapore Open last month — following a brief split after their All England 2025 defeat.

“There are absolutely no issues now between Tang Jie and Ee Wei. They’re both happy and enjoying training, and their communication is excellent,” Nova told News Straits Times.

“The biggest lesson Tang Jie/Ee Wei learned was accepting defeat as this was sometimes an issue they faced before. That’s all in the past now.”

Nova can now focus on developing their performance and skills — while continuing to provide motivation and confidence to reach higher levels.
