Chelsea Start FIFA Club World Cup with Victory over LAFC

UEFA Conference League 2024-2025 champions Chelsea began their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign with a victory — defeating Los Angeles FC 2-0 in Group D match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta.

The Blues’ winning goals were scored by Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez through excellent combination play with Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap.

Chelsea showed their dominance from the start of the match — creating their first opportunity through Noni Madueke in the 18th minute which was still denied by LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The continuous pressure from Chelsea finally paid off — Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to take the lead in the 34th minute.
