Chelsea Reach €65 Million Agreement for Jamie Gittens from Dortmund

According to ESPN, Jamie Gittens is set to join Chelsea after both clubs reached a transfer agreement worth €65 million from Borussia Dortmund.

Face-to-face negotiations took place in the United States while both teams were participating in the Club World Cup — medical examination is scheduled in the coming days.

Although FIFA allows the addition of two players to Club World Cup squads, Gittens cannot play having already appeared for Dortmund against Fluminense in the group stage.

Chelsea previously submitted two rejected offers — the highest bid reaching €50 million including bonuses fell short of Dortmund’s valuation.

Gittens will join other former Manchester City players at Stamford Bridge:

  • Liam Delap recently acquired from Ipswich Town
  • Cole Palmer
  • Tosin Adarabioyo

Chelsea still plans to strengthen their attacking options — the west London club is competing with Newcastle for Brighton forward João Pedro.
