Chelsea player becomes first Argentine to score in 2025 Club World Cup

According to Bolasport.com, the 2025 Club World Cup held in the United States has reached halfway through the first matchday — four groups have completed their matches.

Lionel Messi failed to get his name on the scoresheet as Inter Miami drew goalless against Al Ahly in the tournament opener. The match marked a less than satisfactory start for the Argentine superstar.

While the first four groups (A-D) have completed their matches, the remaining four groups (E-H) will continue until next Thursday. The tournament, which began last Sunday, has already produced several surprises — one of them being a Chelsea player becoming the first Argentine citizen to score in this edition.
