Chelsea Makes Glorious History: Wins 2024/2025 UEFA Conference League, Defeats Real Betis 4-1!

Chelsea has written a new chapter in European football history! At the Wroclaw Stadium in Poland, in the early hours of Thursday (May 29, 2025), The Blues rose like a giant awakened from a long slumber, convincingly defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the 2024/2025 UEFA Conference League final. This spectacular victory not only brought a new trophy to Chelsea but also cemented the West London club as the only team in Europe to have won all five major UEFA club competitions!

From Setback to Comeback — A Thrilling Final Drama

The match started with a bitter surprise. Real Betis, through a quick strike by Abde Ezzalzouli in the 9th minute, put Chelsea on the back foot and under pressure. The first half ended 0-1 in favor of Betis, casting a tense atmosphere over The Blues’ supporters.

However, under the leadership of debutant coach Enzo Maresca, Chelsea showed steel mentality and smart tactics. In the second half, The Blues launched a fierce attack. Enzo Fernandez opened the comeback with an equalizing goal in the 65th minute, followed by Nicolas Jackson who put Chelsea ahead with a sharp header just five minutes later. Not stopping there, Jadon Sancho added to Betis’ woes with a third goal in the 83rd minute, and Moises Caicedo sealed Chelsea’s goal fest during injury time.

Chelsea: The Conqueror of All European Trophies

With this UEFA Conference League title, Chelsea officially becomes the first club to sweep all the major UEFA trophies:

  • UEFA Champions League: 2011/12, 2020/21
  • UEFA Europa League: 2012/13, 2018/19
  • UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup: 1970/71, 1997/98
  • UEFA Super Cup: 1998, 2021
  • UEFA Conference League: 2024/25

This achievement makes Chelsea the most complete European club, surpassing giants like Bayern Munich, Juventus, Ajax, and Manchester United, none of whom have won the UEFA Conference League.

A New Era Under Enzo Maresca’s Command

This trophy stands as clear proof of a new era at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Maresca, in his first season as Chelsea coach, immediately brought home a prestigious title and revived the club’s fighting spirit. After several seasons without silverware, The Blues are now determined to open a new chapter of glory and become a dominant force in Europe.

“This victory is not just an ordinary title. Chelsea has now made history as the first club to win all major UEFA club competitions. This is the milestone marking the beginning of a new era of success for The Blues,” said Maresca confidently.
