Chelsea Crumbles Against Flamengo in FIFA Club World Cup Match

According to DAZN Football, Flamengo defeated Chelsea 3-1 in their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup match at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia.

Pedro Neto gave Chelsea the lead in the 13th minute, but Bruno Henrique and Danilo turned the game around for Flamengo in the second half. The situation worsened for The Blues after Nicolas Jackson received a red card, before Wallace Yan added a third goal for the Brazilian side.

Manager Enzo Maresca’s decision to position Reece James in midfield and Cole Palmer on the right wing drew criticism — proving ineffective with Palmer recording only 32 touches throughout the match.

“We tried to do something different in the game, for next season and the future,” said Maresca after the defeat.

The support of thousands of Flamengo fans filling the stadium created an incredible atmosphere, providing additional energy for the Brazilian team to dominate.

Chelsea now risks failing to top their group and potentially facing Bayern Munich in the round of 16. They will face Esperance Sportive de Tunis in their final group stage match at Lincoln Financial Field.
