Chelsea Close to Agreement for Jamie Gittens Transfer from Dortmund

According to ESPN, Chelsea are approaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jamie Gittens — discussions between both clubs took place in the United States during the Club World Cup.

The Blues have received rejections for two offers for the 20-year-old earlier this month — Dortmund maintains a transfer value of over £50 million for Gittens who impressed last season with 12 goals from 48 appearances across all competitions.

Chelsea prioritize finding a right-footed winger who can play on the left side — the London team has just qualified for the Club World Cup round of 16 after defeating Esperance de Tunis 3-0.

“We need to be proud, we need to be happy [to make the knockout rounds],” stated manager Enzo Maresca after the match.
