Champions League: Arsenal Miss Out on Final, PSG Advance Without Buffon

Paris, May 8, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain have secured their place in the Champions League final this season after defeating Arsenal 2-1 in the second leg of the semifinal at Parc des Princes. With this result, Luis Enrique’s squad advances with a 3-1 aggregate and will face Inter Milan in the final.

PSG came out aggressively from the first whistle, showing high intensity and immediately putting pressure on Arsenal’s defense. Their dominance paid off in the 12th minute with a powerful strike from Fabián Ruiz outside the penalty box, blasting into the left side of David Raya’s goal.

PSG’s quick tempo continued to trouble Arsenal’s backline. In the 37th minute, Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead after capitalizing on a through ball and calmly finishing in front of goal.

Arsenal responded in the second half. Bukayo Saka pulled one back in the 64th minute, finding the net amidst a scramble in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s goal. However, The Gunners’ effort to equalize fell short as PSG held on until the final whistle.
