Casey Stoner – MotoGP legend who retired at his career peak

Casey Stoner carved out a brilliant career in MotoGP history — making his debut in 2006 with satellite team LCR Honda and immediately securing his first podium with second place at the Turkish GP.

The Australian rider’s career trajectory soared when he joined the Ducati factory team — his peak achievement was winning the MotoGP world championship in 2007.

After moving to the Honda factory team, Stoner proved his class again — clinching his second world title in 2011.

“Stoner is a rider with phenomenal and extraordinary talent,” stated Lucio Cecchinello, IRTA President and LCR Honda team boss who once led Stoner.

However, Stoner’s brilliant story ended prematurely — he decided to retire at the end of 2012 season when he was just 27 years old.
