Carlo Ancelotti Rejects Brazil Job Due to Saudi Offer

According to Bolasport.com, the agreement between Carlo Ancelotti and the Brazil national football team collapsed within the last 48 hours. An attractive offer from Saudi Arabia is believed to be one of the main reasons behind the breakdown.

The Real Madrid coach had reportedly given a verbal agreement to take charge of the Selecao on Monday night. However, the situation changed drastically over the following two days.

Diego Fernandes — a special envoy of the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) — was present at the Emirates Stadium to watch the UEFA Champions League semifinal match between Arsenal and Real Madrid. The CBF had planned a dinner meeting with Carlo Ancelotti in London to finalize the deal.

The plan to bring in the Italian coach had been in motion for quite some time, aimed at helping the Brazil national football team recover from its recent slump. However, despite Ancelotti attending the meeting, his stance changed from initially agreeing to ultimately rejecting the offer.
