Callum Wilson Officially Departs Newcastle United After Five Years

Callum Wilson has officially announced his departure from Newcastle United — ending his five-year journey with the Premier League club.

The 33-year-old striker joined The Magpies from Bournemouth for £20 million about five years ago — a year before the club was taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

During his time at Newcastle, Wilson managed to score 49 goals in 130 appearances — including four matches in last season’s Champions League. He also contributed to the League Cup triumph last season.

“To all you Magpies, it’s time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years at the Toon. Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights,” Wilson stated.

“I am so proud to have worn the iconic No. 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate end really is as special as they say.”

“All good things come to an end, but there’s no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my families hearts,” he added.
