Calhanoglu’s injury worsens, Inter Milan faces problems in Club World Cup

Hakan Calhanoglu faces serious issues with his injury — the Inter Milan midfielder has been forced to miss several important matches.

The Turkish player sustained an injury during the Champions League final against PSG — he only managed to play for 70 minutes before being substituted in the heavy 0-5 defeat.

The injury impact caused Calhanoglu to miss international duty with Turkey in June’s FIFA Matchday, as well as two Inter Milan matches in the 2025 Club World Cup against Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds.

“Hakan Calhanoglu underwent an MRI scan on his right foot yesterday in Seattle,” reads Inter Milan’s official statement confirming the player’s condition hasn’t improved.

Ahead of the match against River Plate, medical staff discovered new complications in the midfielder’s right foot injury — a situation further complicating Inter Milan’s preparation in the tournament.
