Caleb Wiley returns to Watford on loan from Chelsea

Caleb Wiley, United States national team left-back, has been loaned again by Chelsea to Championship club Watford — continuing the partnership established since the second half of last season.

The 20-year-old joined Chelsea about a year ago from MLS club Atlanta United for a transfer fee of around 11 million dollars — immediately being loaned to Strasbourg for the 2024-25 season.

His loan spell at the French club was cut short after suffering a shoulder injury in a collision during a match against Nice. After undergoing surgery, Wiley was then loaned to Watford and made his debut last March.

The Atlanta-born player has recorded three appearances with the United States national team and also represented his country’s Olympic team last year. Wiley is tied to a six-year contract with Chelsea since his move from Atlanta United.
