Bruno Fernandes Shines but Fails to Win UEL Final

Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United captain who had been outstanding throughout the tournament, ended the campaign in disappointment as his team fell short of winning the title. A single goal by Brennan Johnson sealed Tottenham’s historic victory.

Individually, Fernandes had an impressive tournament — finishing as one of the Europa League’s top scorers with seven goals, alongside Kasper Hogh of Bodo/Glimt and Ayoub El Kaabi of Olympiacos. The Portuguese midfielder also provided four assists, matching the tally of his teammate Alejandro Garnacho.
