Brunei loses 0-8, coach acknowledges Indonesia U-23 team’s superiority

Indonesia U-23 national team started their ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 campaign with a decisive 8-0 victory over Brunei Darussalam at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.

Shin Tae-yong’s squad dominated from the beginning — scoring seven goals in the first half. Jens Raven emerged as the star player with six goals, while Rayhan Hannan and Arkhan Fikri each contributed one goal.

Brunei Darussalam’s coach, Aminuddin Jumat, acknowledged the host team’s superiority after the match.

“I want to congratulate Indonesia. They showed an aggressive performance,” said Aminuddin.

The Bruneian coach attributed his team’s heavy defeat to his players’ mistakes in executing game strategy.
