Broc Feeney dominates Supercars race in Townsville with perfect strategy

Broc Feeney of Triple Eight demonstrated his dominance by winning the third Supercars race at the Reid Park street circuit in Townsville.

Starting from pole position, Feeney’s Chevrolet Camaro — showed the best combination of speed and tire durability. Cam Waters from Tickford Racing attempted a different strategy with his first pit stop on lap 15, but Feeney managed to reclaim the lead.

“Huge credit to Will, that was the hardest race I have had in a long time. He was definitely the faster guy today,” said Feeney, who has won nine of the last 12 races.

Will Brown finished second, 3.01 seconds behind Feeney, while Chaz Mostert secured third podium after passing Waters in the final 12 laps.

  • Matt Payne finished fifth
  • Anton De Pasquale took sixth position
  • Ryan Wood seventh
  • Thomas Randle eighth
  • Bryce Fullwood ninth

This victory strengthens Feeney’s championship lead with a 220-point advantage over Brown. The Supercars series will continue at Queensland Raceway on August 8-10.
