Brisbane Roar Parts Ways With Coach Ruben Zadkovich After Disappointing Season

Brisbane Roar ends Ruben Zadkovich’s tenure after poor A-League run

Brisbane Roar has officially parted ways with head coach Ruben Zadkovich following a disappointing season in the A-League, where the club finished second from bottom — despite going unbeaten in their final four games.

Zadkovich, who led the team for 38 league matches, managed just eight wins, ten draws, and twenty defeats — results that contributed heavily to the team’s underperformance.

Kaz Patafta, CEO of Brisbane Roar, shared a statement acknowledging the coach’s efforts:

“The club would like to acknowledge and thank Ruben for his commitment and efforts during his tenure in Brisbane.”

The decision marks yet another managerial change at Brisbane Roar — the club’s seventh coaching shift in the past three years, including interim appointments. This reflects the ongoing instability since the club’s golden era under Ange Postecoglou.

Zadkovich expressed gratitude in his farewell message:

“I wish to take this opportunity to thank the members and fans at Brisbane Roar, alongside Kaz Patafta and Zac Anderson, for the opportunity to coach at this great club.”
