Brazilian striker Igor Jesus joins Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo — a player who caught attention at the recent Club World Cup.

The 24-year-old forward demonstrated his abilities by scoring twice in the tournament held in the United States — including a decisive goal against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Igor Jesus joined Botafogo about a year ago from UAE club Shabab Al Ahli, and his impressive performances earned him his first Brazil national team call-up. His Selecao debut was marked with a goal against Chile in World Cup qualifying.

“I’m really happy to be a part of this new story, especially at a club like Nottingham Forest. I didn’t have to think twice about the offer and embraced the project they sent me,” said Igor Jesus.

The Reds — who finished seventh in the Premier League last season after spending time in Champions League spots — will compete in the UEFA Conference League this season.
