Five-time World Cup champions Brazil have secured their spot at the 2026 World Cup after defeating Paraguay 1-0 in São Paulo, according to the Associated Press.

Carlo Ancelotti earned his first win as Brazil head coach — a milestone that came after a goalless draw against Ecuador. The match-winning goal came from Real Madrid striker Vinícius Júnior in the second half.

Brazil collected 25 points with two matches remaining in the CONMEBOL qualifiers — enough to secure one of six automatic spots at the tournament set to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Argentina is the only other South American team that has already clinched qualification.

This achievement continues Brazil’s perfect record of never missing a World Cup finals since the tournament’s inception.
