Brad Pitt reaches 197 mph in first McLaren F1 car test

Brad Pitt — star of the newly released “F1: The Movie” — made his debut behind the wheel of a 2023 McLaren MCL60 Formula 1 car at Circuit of the Americas — an experience that left him thoroughly impressed.

The 61-year-old actor — who portrays character Sonny Hayes in the F1 blockbuster — reached speeds of 197 miles per hour during the testing session.

“I’ve never experienced anything that’s just a more feeling of presence in my life. You’re so focused, but not white-knuckling,” Pitt shared on the Beyond the Grid podcast.

The F1 car experience proved vastly different from the F2 cars used in the film — with significantly higher braking performance, speed, and cornering ability.
