Botafogo defeat Seattle Sounders in FIFA Club World Cup 2025

In the Group B match of FIFA Club World Cup 2025 at Lumen Field, Botafogo managed to defeat Seattle Sounders with a score of 2-1.

The Brazilian team — despite not dominating the game — secured two goals in the first half. Jair Cunha opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a powerful header from Alex Telles‘ free kick.

Igor Jesus then extended Botafogo’s lead in the 44th minute with a header inside the penalty box. Sounders — one of Lionel Messi’s MLS rivals — only managed to score once through Cristian Roldan in the 75th minute.
