Veteran coach Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, currently at the helm for Boom Esports, has announced that the Dota 2 The International 2025 stage in Hamburg, Germany will mark his final competition.

The Malaysian professional signaled this in a personal social media post, expressing his eagerness for his “last TI.” Further details about his future plans or the reasons behind this decision are not yet followed.

It would be a sad day for Boom Esports fans and the Southeast Asian Dota 2 community, who have followed his career since its early days, witnessing his journey from a pro player in the Malaysia-China esports scene to his current role as a head coach.

As the leader of The Hungry Beast, the 34-year-old has guided the Indonesian team since 2021. He briefly stepped down and took a break in his home country near the end of 2023, but returned in September 2024 following calls from his Boom Esports colleagues.

His achievements with Boom Esports during these periods were quite impressive. A major highlight came in 2022 when the team won the Gamers Galaxy circuits in Thailand and Saudi Arabia, dominated the SEA Dota Pro Circuit, and qualified for The International for the first time.
