After a month-long period, Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong and Armel “Armel” Tabios have been signed as permanent members of Boom Esports’ Dota 2 roster.

Initially hired as stand-ins from Aurora Gaming on March 15th, their exceptional performance during the closed qualifiers for the ESL DreamLeague Season 26 seemingly convinced The Hungry Beast to recruite them as the final signings to complete the squad.

Given their experience and synergy, Boom Esports has undoubtedly secured valuable assets for this season. Notably, Jabz and Armel have played together since their days on Fnatic’s Philippines roster, long before joining Aurora Gaming.

The duo temporarily parted ways after Fnatic disbanded. Jabz became a key player for Talon Esports (later Aurora) from 2023 to early 2025, while Armel served as Team Secret’s midlaner in Europe from March to November 2023. The two reunited at Aurora in late November 2023.

Despite their strong showing in the recent qualifiers, Boom Esports must improve consistency to reclaim its status as one of Southeast Asia’s top teams. After its remarkable 2022 campaign, the team’s performance has steadily declined, with repeated failures to qualify for prestigious international competitions.
