Boom Esports and Talon Esports Exit VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1

Two Southeast Asian representatives, Boom Esports and Talon Esports, were eliminated from the VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1 circuit after suffering decisive defeats in the playoff quarterfinals last Sunday afternoon (4/5).

Prior to the playoffs, both teams garnered significant attention for their impressive performances during the group stage. Boom Esports dominated Group Alpha undefeated, while Talon Esports showcased remarkable improvement to secure the runner-up spot in Group Omega.

Unfortunately, neither team could sustain their momentum in the critical matches. Boom faced back-to-back heavy losses against Gen.G in the upper bracket and Paper Rex in the lower bracket. Meanwhile, Talon, fresh off eliminating Nongshim RedForce the day before, fell short in a tense, emotionally charged showdown against DRX.

This disappointing exit came as a slight surprise, especially considering both teams boast mechanically skilled lineups capable of competing with top-tier veterans. Moving forward, they will need to address gaps in their strategies ahead of Stage 2.

With these results, RRQ Valorant now stands as the sole Indonesian representative advancing to the upcoming Masters Toronto circuit. For Southeast Asian fans, all eyes will turn to the lower bracket semifinal clash between PRX and DRX in the next four days.
