Mixed doubles pair Bobby Setiabudi and Melati Daeva Oktavianti pulled off a major upset at the 2025 Taipei Open, defeating second-seeded Japanese duo Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito in the tournament’s second round.

Competing at Taipei Arena, Taiwan, the independent pair from PB Djarum delivered an impressive performance against the 2025 Asian Championships silver medalists.

Their dominance at the net was key to the victory — Bobby/Melati raced to a commanding 10-3 lead. With excellent court control, the Indonesian duo wrapped up the first game with an 11-5 advantage.
