Bernardo Silva reveals pride in Manchester City captaincy

Bernardo Silva has expressed his pride after being appointed Manchester City captain — an achievement he describes as one of the greatest honors in his career.

Pep Guardiola decided to personally select the captain this time, after admitting there were things he “didn’t like” about the team’s leadership last season.

“It’s probably one of the biggest honours of my career. I’m going to start my ninth season at the club. We went through a lot of fantastic moments and some disappointments as well,” stated Silva.

The Portuguese midfielder emphasized that team leadership isn’t about one person — it’s about each player being a leader and helping their teammates beside them.

Silva will be supported by a leadership team consisting of Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Erling Haaland, with the possibility of adding another name before the upcoming Premier League season begins.
