Before Japan Open 2025, Seo Seung-jae donates $450,000 to hospital

Ahead of Japan Open 2025, South Korean doubles badminton player Seo Seung-jae made a humanitarian gesture by donating 50 million won ($450,000) to Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.

The world champion in men’s and mixed doubles provided the donation to the newborn care unit — an expression of gratitude for the health of his son, Seo Yi-jun, who just celebrated his first birthday.

The donation funds will be used for developing infrastructure and intensive care equipment for high-risk neonatal patients.

“I decided to make this donation hoping to help newborns and their families who need accurate initial diagnosis and treatment,” Seo told Gukjenews.
