A new record was set during the final week of the VCT EMEA 2025: Stage 1 group stage last Thursday night (23/04), which featured a thrilling Turkish derby between BBL Esports and FUT Esports. The match lasted a staggering 3 hours and 6 minutes, making it the longest game in VCT history.

The bulk of this marathon clash unfolded in Game 1 on Ascent, where the two teams traded momentum in a relentless back-and-forth that spiraled into an extended overtime. BBL dominated the first half, but FUT flipped the script as attackers in the second, pushing the game to Round 24.

From there, both sides exchanged blows with neither gaining a decisive edge. After a grueling 45 rounds, BBL finally found consistency, securing three consecutive round wins to close out Game 1 in Round 48.

The intensity carried over to Game 2 on Icebox, where the teams continued their fiercely competitive battle. However, FUT faltered during critical moments in the second half, succumbing to a bitter defeat in Round 24. The series ended 2-0 in favor of BBL.

This historic match now holds the record for the longest game in VCT circuit history, surpassing the previous milestone set by TSM vs Gen.G at VCT 2021 at over 100 minutes. Earlier this year, MIBR vs Sentinels at the VCT Americas 2025 Kickoff also delivered a marathon showdown, clocking in at 98 minutes.
