Bayern Munich Wary of Boca Juniors Threat in Club World Cup

According to Reuters, coach Vincent Kompany is cautious about Boca Juniors’ strength — despite Bayern Munich’s recent emphatic 10-0 victory over Auckland City in their Club World Cup opener.

The Argentine side had led by two goals before settling for a 2-2 draw with Benfica — convincing Kompany they pose a serious threat to Bayern’s pursuit of their third title in this tournament.

“We understand the quality of this tournament — every participating team is a champion. Boca are very dangerous in transition play,” Kompany stated ahead of the match at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami.

The return of Jamal Musiala and Dayot Upamecano after more than two months absence provides additional strength for Bayern. Musiala immediately made his mark by scoring a hat-trick against Auckland after coming on as a substitute.

Kompany also acknowledged that Boca’s supporter presence, expected to fill the stadium, could make the match feel like an away game for Bayern Munich.
