According to Plettigoal, Bayern Munich have identified Cody Gakpo as their top replacement target after missing out on Florian Wirtz, who has opted to join Liverpool next season.

Die Roten have shortlisted three potential candidates to strengthen their wing options:

  • Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton
  • Rafael Leao from AC Milan

Out of the three, Gakpo is seen as the top priority due to his impressive form — scoring 25 goals for Liverpool this season. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl is said to have a particular interest in the Dutch forward.

The Bavarian club has now started initial talks over a potential transfer of the 26-year-old to the Allianz Arena.
