Barcelona Reject Dumfries Move Despite Low Release Clause

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have decided to reject the opportunity to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan — despite having a golden chance thanks to a €25 million release clause.

The clause remains valid until the end of July, but Barcelona have chosen to focus on renewing Jules Kounde’s contract instead of signing a new right-back.

Although Dumfries has long been on Barcelona’s radar and his agent even offered him to the club, Barcelona have decided not to enter into any negotiations — a shift from their previous stance when price was the main issue.
