Barcelona Close to Finalizing Swedish Wonderkid Transfer from FC Copenhagen

According to ESPN, Barcelona stands on the verge of securing FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji — with a transfer fee of around 2 million euros plus various bonuses.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, held a meeting with the player’s agent last Monday to discuss transfer terms. The relatively low transfer fee is influenced by Bardghji’s contract expiring this December.

The Swedish national born in Kuwait — despite missing significant time due to an ACL injury last season — has recorded 11 goals in the 2023-24 season, including a historic goal when Copenhagen defeated Manchester United 4-3 in the Champions League.

Barcelona plans to place the 19-year-old in the B team while training with the first team. Club management is also considering including Bardghji in the pre-season tour to Asia — giving coach Hansi Flick an opportunity to better understand the young player’s potential.
