Barcelona Cancels Japan Tour Due to Promoter Contract Issues

Barcelona has announced the cancellation of their Japan leg of Asian tour following a serious contract breach by the promoter. The friendly match against Vissel Kobe scheduled for this weekend has been forced to be called off.

Internal sources revealed that the contract violation relates to payment issues promised by organizers for Barcelona’s participation in the matches.

While canceling the Japan tour, the Catalan club still maintains the possibility of continuing their agenda in South Korea — where they are scheduled to face FC Seoul and Daegu FC in early August. However, the continuation of this tour depends on the fulfillment of several conditions by the promoter.

After the Asian tour series, Barcelona will host Como in a friendly match at Estadi Johan Cruyff, before starting their LaLiga title defense against Mallorca in an away fixture.

“Barcelona regret this incident and the impact on the large community of Barça fans in Japan,” stated the club’s official announcement.
