BAM still searching for women’s singles coach to replace Jeffer Rosobin

According to The Star, Kenneth Jonassen, the singles coaching director of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), is evaluating various candidates to fill the women’s singles coach position that has been vacant for four months.

The position was left by Indonesian coach Jeffer Rosobin — the figure who led Gregoria Mariska Tunjung to the junior world championship title.

“I see many potential coaches. Anyone with coaching experience here or abroad is highly valued,” states Jonassen.

“This is more about working as one team. From senior to junior. I like moving coaches to different positions — it gives us an overall sense of unity and stronger player lineup.”

Some candidates on BAM’s radar:

  • Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin — former Malaysian men’s singles player currently coaching in Ireland
  • Mohd Hafiz Hashim — All England champion who previously coached in India
