BAM President Seeks Clarity on Pearly Tan/Thinaah Contract

According to Harian Metro, Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) President Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz visited the national training center in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur to discuss the contract status of women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan/Thinaah — which expired at the end of last year.

Speculation circulates that the Indonesia Open 2025 runners-up plan to follow Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin‘s path — becoming independent players outside BAM’s management.

Despite facing contract uncertainty and salary disagreement issues, Tan/Thinaah continue to demonstrate their professionalism. The pair’s achievements have actually improved in the first half of this year:

  • Thailand Open 2025 champions
  • Indonesia Masters 2025 runners-up
  • Indonesia Open 2025 runners-up
