Bahrain coach still puzzled by Indonesia’s volleyball team strength

Bahrain men’s national volleyball team coach, Arnaud Josserand, admits he hasn’t yet understood Indonesia’s team strength — he plans to observe Rivan Nurmulki and teammates’ performance against Thailand in AVC Nations Cup 2025.

Bahrain successfully completed their Group A opener with a victory over Thailand at Isa bin Rashid Hall, Isa Town, yesterday. The hosts won with a score of 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22) — this result puts them at the top of the temporary standings with three points.

“We started the match very well and were completely focused. The blocking defense was excellent,” said Josserand via Bahrain Volleyball’s Instagram.

“We won the first set quite well, but in the second set we did too much blocking. Thai players started spiking and the ball went in various directions we didn’t want,” he added.
