Bagnaia Struggles to Compete with Marquez Brothers in MotoGP 2025

Bagnaia Struggles to Compete with Marquez Brothers in MotoGP 2025

According to Italian MotoGP observer, Carlo Pernat, Francesco Bagnaia remains secure in his position at the Ducati factory team, despite recent struggles to match his new teammate Marc Marquez in the 2025 MotoGP season.

Dominance by Marc Marquez

After six race weekends, the 2022 and 2023 world champion has managed only one main race win, while Marc Marquez has outperformed him with three main race victories and wins in all sprint races so far. This shift in team dynamics has raised questions about Bagnaia’s momentum this season.

Trouble from the Marquez duo

Bagnaia’s difficulties have been compounded by challenges from Alex Marquez — the Gresini Racing rider and younger brother of Marc. The presence of both Marquez brothers has made the 2025 campaign particularly tough for the 28-year-old Italian.

Pernat: Bagnaia still in a strong position

Despite the pressure, Pernat notes that Bagnaia benefits from top-tier Ducati machinery and the experience of having Marc Marquez as a teammate — a combination that still places him in an advantageous role for the rest of the season.
