Bagnaia struggles in Dutch MotoGP Sprint Race, Bezzecchi offers support

Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo team faced significant challenges in the 2025 Dutch MotoGP Sprint Race at Assen Circuit — the Italian rider had to settle for a finish outside the podium positions.

During the 13-lap race, Bagnaia’s performance declined dramatically entering the second lap — the Turin native lost his position after being overtaken by Alex Marquez from BK8 Gresini Racing.

The difficulties continued as the two-time world champion failed to pass Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha, and even had to yield to Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia Racing.

“He (Bagnaia) surprised me because yesterday and today he was very fast,” stated Bezzecchi, offering support to his academy teammate.

With this result, Bagnaia faces a major challenge for today’s main race at Assen Circuit.
