Bagnaia struggles at Italian MotoGP, finishes off podium

Francesco Bagnaia experienced a difficult day at Ducati’s home race — the 2025 Italian MotoGP at Mugello Circuit yesterday. The 28-year-old rider failed to convert his second-place start into a podium finish.

During the 23-lap race, Bagnaia engaged in an intense battle with his teammate Marc Marquez in the early stages — even accidentally making contact with the Spanish rider on the seventh lap.

After this incident, Bagnaia’s performance declined significantly — he fell behind both Marquez brothers and was subsequently overtaken by Fabio Di Giannantonio from Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing. The Italian rider ultimately had to settle for fourth place at his home race.
