Bagnaia Reveals Speed Secrets at Italian MotoGP

Francesco Bagnaia reveals the secret behind his speed at Mugello Circuit — track characteristics that suit his riding style are the main factor.

“High speed is a combination of several factors, but I think the biggest one is the track character that allows me to ride with my style”

The 28-year-old Ducati rider explains that using soft rear tires — enables him to optimize the front end of the bike more effectively.

The journey to optimal performance hasn’t been smooth, with technical challenges in the morning session.

“In the morning, the situation wasn’t good, the bike was behaving very awkwardly. We had to work in a different direction first to find the problem”

Issues also emerged with the medium rear tire showing significant performance drop after several laps — unlike the softer version which demonstrated better consistency.

Bagnaia recalls his experience at Mugello last year — starting from fifth position and taking the lead by turn two, but emphasizes that getting the best feeling with the bike matters more than starting position.
