Bagnaia Reveals Main Issue in Dutch MotoGP Sprint Race

Francesco Bagnaia experienced a disappointing result in the 2025 Dutch MotoGP sprint race — finishing fifth after starting from second position at the Assen Circuit.

The Ducati rider has faced consistent challenges in the short race format since its introduction two years ago — despite collecting nine sprint race victories during this period.

“I’m always trying to understand why I struggle in Sprint races. The team and I know the reason — the different fuel tank significantly changes my feeling with the bike,” Bagnaia told MotoGP.com.

The main issue lies in the difference between sprint race and full race fuel tank sizes — significantly impacting bike control sensitivity.

“Today my start wasn’t good and I got stuck behind. The situation is always the same and I don’t know how to change it,” added the Italian rider while commenting on his Assen performance.
