Bagnaia Receives Warning After Incident with Marquez at Italian MotoGP

Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo team secured fourth place in the Italian MotoGP at Mugello Circuit — a result overshadowed by controversy after an incident with Marc Marquez.

Race Direction issued a warning to the Italian rider immediately after the race — a decision he found difficult to comprehend.

“Marc overtook me on the inside, went slightly wide, and I was just trying to cross the finish line. I waited to open the throttle and didn’t have the speed to overtake him,” Bagnaia explained to DAZN.

“It was fun at the beginning. We were fighting, especially with Marc. I had good speed, but at some point, the bike started to get close, move, and I couldn’t follow my line,” the defending champion revealed.

Technical issues that have persisted since the season’s start resurfaced — the bike locking up while attempting to take ideal lines became a major hindrance to Bagnaia’s performance at Mugello.
