Bagnaia’s Jerez Podium Less Significant Than Marquez’s Failure, Says Ducati CEO

Ducati CEO’s Focus Shifts to Marquez’s Performance in 2025 Season

In the 2025 season, Marc Marquez’s performances have been exceptional, but not without challenges. His early dominance in the season was disrupted by a series of crashes, leading to two DNFs. Despite these setbacks, Ducati’s CEO Claudio Domenicali has been more focused on Marquez’s ability to ride the bike with precision and the impressive results he has managed to achieve.

Domenicali acknowledged that while Bagnaia’s third-place finish was a solid result, Marquez’s consistent performance, including multiple wins and podiums, makes him a major figure in the team’s success this season.

Bagnaia Finishes Third, But Marquez’s Struggles Take the Spotlight

According to GPOne, Francesco Bagnaia’s third-place podium at the Spanish MotoGP in Jerez Circuit received a lukewarm response from Ducati Corse CEO Claudio Domenicali.

Domenicali, instead of celebrating Bagnaia’s success, shifted his focus to Marc Marquez’s failure to finish the race, considering the Spanish rider’s dominance in the early part of the 2025 season.

Claudio Domenicali Praises Marquez’s Performance Despite Crashes

Marc Marquez has shown impressive statistics with Ducati so far in 2025, securing five sprint wins, three main race victories, and four pole positions in the first five rounds. However, Marquez’s performance has been marred by two DNFs due to crashes.

“Marc is incredible, he rides the bike very well,” stated Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, acknowledging Marquez’s talent despite the setbacks.
