Bagnaia: Bezzecchi’s British MotoGP Victory Not Due To Luck

Francesco Bagnaia, rider of the Ducati Lenovo Team, has spoken out in defense of Marco Bezzecchi, following the Italian’s triumph at the 2025 British MotoGP with Pertamina Enduro VR46.

Bezzecchi Seizes Opportunity after Quartararo’s Exit

Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha appeared to be heading toward victory, leading the race by more than five seconds. However, a technical problem on his bike forced him to retire with seven laps remaining.

Before the incident, Bezzecchi had steadily reduced the gap to 4.4 seconds, showing competitive pace. Once Quartararo was out, Bezzecchi capitalized and held the lead with confidence, crossing the finish line with a margin of 4.088 seconds.

Bagnaia Rejects Notion of Luck

“This isn’t about luck. Bezzecchi showed strong performance from the Sprint Race to the main race — he deserves to be the winner,” said Bagnaia, defending his fellow VR46 Academy rider.

Bezzecchi’s victory marks a significant achievement for Pertamina Enduro VR46, highlighting the team’s rising consistency in the 2025 MotoGP season.
