Aurora Turkey Stuns Onic PH With Dramatic Upset in MSC 2025 Group B

A stunning upset unfolded in the third opening match of MSC 2025 Group B, as crowd favorite Onic PH fell dramatically to Aurora Turkey, 1-2.

Many expected this match to follow the script of RRQ Hoshi’s decisive win over Area 77 earlier. However, Aurora shattered the Yellow Porcupines’ confidence with surprising strategies and impressive mechanics.

Turkey’s dark horse shows incredible discipline

Round 1 was mostly heavily in Aurora’s favor. Sidar “Tienzy” Menteşe used Lancelot to pressure Onic repeatedly. Although Onic fought back hard with King “K1NGKONG” Perez, Aurora’s late-game power spike and map control became unstoppable, winning them the round in 15 minutes.

Round 2 saw Onic strike back. They secured Aurora’s key Lancelot pick and controlled the game’s pace. After about ten minutes, they dominated and won a crucial team fight near the 19-minute mark to tie the series.

Onic tried the same strategy in the decisive round. Unfortunately, it didn’t end well as Aurora players gradually figured out Onic’s moves and, with incredible discipline, seized every chance to empower their carry, Ahmet “Rosa” Batir, effectively turning the table.

Despite Onic controlling the map through the mid-game, Aurora’s strategy of choosing a defensively stronger late-game draft made it hard for Onic to finish fights. They got pushed back to their base and finally fell to a base assault after the 20-minute mark.

As winners, Aurora will face RRQ Hoshi this Saturday (July 26th) for the first playoff spot. This will be RRQ Hoshi’s first major MSC 2025 challenge, especially given Aurora’s unconventional strategies.
