Aston Martin F1 launches driver academy with Mari Boya as first recruit

Aston Martin Formula 1 team has announced the launch of their driver academy with Mari Boya — the Spanish Formula 3 driver — as the program’s first recruit.

A three-time Spanish karting champion, Boya will receive full support from Aston Martin through a comprehensive development program in his racing journey. The academy is designed to identify and nurture young talent starting from karting level — following the pattern already implemented by other Formula 1 teams.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mari to this new program. He is a promising talent with a strong track record, natural speed, and determined mindset,” said Andy Cowell, Aston Martin team principal.

“Joining the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team Driver Academy is a dream come true. It’s a unique opportunity to learn from a team with great ambition in Formula 1,” said Boya.

Boya will compete in the Austria F3 round wearing Aston Martin logos on his helmet and racing suit. The 21-year-old Campos driver currently sits 13th in the standings with one podium in Monaco and one sprint race victory in Barcelona last season.
