Ashley Lawrence Leaves Chelsea to Join Lyon

Canadian national team defender Ashley Lawrence has officially joined French giants OL Lyon — departing Chelsea after two years in West London.

The 30-year-old player has signed a three-year contract with Lyon — a club known as one of the dominant forces in European women’s football.

Lawrence, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain before moving to England, managed to collect four trophies during her time at Chelsea including consecutive Women’s Super League titles.

“Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Ashley the very best for the future as she begins a new chapter in her career,” the club stated in their official announcement.
