Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will continue to field their top players in the final stretch of the 2024/25 Premier League season — despite their fading title hopes.

The Gunners are currently 13 points behind leaders Liverpool with just five games remaining, making Liverpool’s 20th league title seemingly inevitable.

Still, Arteta refuses to shift strategy:

“We’re still playing to win. Every match matters. Our best players will be on the pitch,” Arteta told Bolasport.com.

This decision carries significant risk, especially after Bukayo Saka sustained an ankle injury during the recent match against Ipswich Town. Despite this, Arteta believes that maintaining a competitive approach is crucial for team morale.

Arsenal fans are still holding out hope that Liverpool may slip up, potentially reopening the title race at the season’s climax.
